NAFA Measuring Officials
A measuring official is a trained NAFA judge who applies the rulebook's measuring procedure so a dog's jump height is established fairly, consistently, and with an accurate record.
A progressive qualification
Part of judge development
Measuring qualification develops alongside judge training. Candidates build knowledge and consistency through education, observation, supervised practice, measuring assignments, and evaluation before receiving measuring official status.
Practice
Supervised assignments
Supervised practice and assignments provide experience with dogs, equipment, documentation, and the judgment needed to produce a reliable measurement.
Demonstrate
Evaluation and approval
Documented assignments and evaluation allow the Judges Committee to determine when a candidate has met the applicable requirements.
Remain current
Ongoing standards
Approved judges have ongoing annual judging and measuring requirements. These standards keep practical skills current and support consistent decisions throughout NAFA.
